Promoter

In the hustle and bustle of the day to day business people tend to forget what the true role of an intermediating concert agency is all about. It is the transmission belt between promoter and artist. A well informed agency is familiar with the cost, worries and problems of both sides and has the challenging task of building a bridge to bring both parties together. The bigger the gap, the more exciting our task.

Many are convinced that an agency is always much closer to the artists. Hmmm… Most bands have in comparison to promoters and the associated cultural institutions a shorter life span. Many promoters, who first acquired our services 25 years ago, are still going strong as our customers. Over this length of time customers became friends. New and also voluntary promoters find it quite often too much of a challenge to get their bearings right in the jungle of withholding tax, GEMA or KSK. We are happy to help free of cost.

Working the media starts once a tour is booked. We have a good reputation with the media because we didn’t jump on every commercial band wagon or ruthlessly copy other original ideas. Therefore they are open-minded to our ideas. Local promoters as artists enjoy our help filling the gigs.

We have the local knowledge about where good music comes from and when new trends are emerging. We are no agents of internet mercy, who acquired their knowledge about World music thanks to Google. A promoter can’t be a Jack of all trades. He needs to know agencies he can rely on, who roamed the world, in order to have the capacity to distinguish relevant from irrelevant.

As the producers of the Irish Folk Festival, Irish Heartbeat and Danceperados of Ireland we must have done something right. Otherwise why would we be copied with such verve?
