"Rain Check" their third album is a welcome sight. Featuring ex Oisin fiddler Mick Davis, singer/guitarist George Lonergan from Co. Limerick, Peter Cole from Warwickshire in England and the solitary German member Tommy Venxion, Bacherlors Walk are one fine outfit combining instrumental dexterity with a sharp eye for evocative material. "Airdi Cuan" is subject to an ambient treatment both effective and mercifully short of etherial sonambulance while George Longergan's vocals on "Rites of Passage" and "My Cavan Girl" display a heartfelt unaffected delivery and Peter Cole's "Rocking Horse Days" is a little gem of observation. "Rain Check" proves Bacherlors Walk a tremendously worthwhile discovery.
